DESCRIPTION:The Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) recently recognized Dr. Ali Adnan Ibrahim for his exemplary leadership as the Chairman of the Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee for several years. \nUnder his guidance\, the committee achieved numerous notable accomplishments in the field of sustainability and social responsibility. Specifically\, Dr. Ali and his team submitted innovative proposals on policy and program developmentin sustainable finance\, which helped to advance sustainable banking practices in Bahrain. \nThe Committee coordinated with the Central Bank of Bahrain and developed a comprehensiverecommendation for regulatory reforms (Sustainable Finance Policy Paper). The Committee also worked closely with Tamkeen (Bahrain Labor Fund) to launch solar financing scheme supported by six banks. \nDr. Ali Adnan’s dedication and expertise have had a significant impact on promoting sustainable finance and social responsibility within the banking sector. The BAB’s recognition of his achievements is a testament to his outstanding contributions and leadership in this important area. \nIn the presence of Association officials\, Mr. Adnan Ahmed Yousif\, the Chairman of BAB\, presented Dr. Ali Adnan with a certificate and a shield of honor during a reception held in his office yesterday. \nOn this occasion\, Mr. Adnan Yousif said\, “It is with great pleasure that we recognize Dr. Ali Adnan today for his exceptional achievements in promoting sustainability\, social responsibility\, and green finance practices. As Chair of the Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee of the Association\, Dr. Ali Adnan has demonstrated unwavering commitment to advancing environmentally conscious practices and social responsibility efforts.” \n“In my personal capacity\, I have had the privilege of cultivating a longstanding relationship with Dr. Ali Adnan over the years. Throughout this time\, I have come to know him as a tenacious and dedicated individual\, whose outstanding initiatives have been instrumental in encouraging green finance practices. It is with deep gratitude that I express my sincerest thanks and appreciation for Dr. Ali Adnan’s invaluable contributions to our shared mission.” \nDr. Waheed Al Qassim\, the CEO of BAB\, expressed his profound pride in Dr. Ali Adnan’s significant contributions to the Association\, particularly in promoting sustainable finance practices within Bahraini banks. DESCRIPTION:Standard Chartered Bank named ‘Gold Sponsor’ for Banking sector centenary \nBahrain Association of Banks announced that Standard Chartered Bank participate as a Gold sponsor for the 100th anniversary celebration of Bahrain’s banking sector\, the celebration that marks the establishment of this bank in 1920 as the first bank in Bahrain. \nBahrain Association of Banks (BAB) said previously that the celebration will be held on December 11 under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa following several events\, publications and meetings. \nBAB confirmed Standard chartered Bank gold sponsorship of the 100-anniversary celebration and the annual Bahraini Banks reception celebration\, which will be organized by the association and held in Washington\, DC to coincide with the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund scheduled from 18-20 October 2019. \nBAB chief executive Dr. Waheed AL Qassim said: “We are delighted to welcome Standard chartered Bank as a Gold Sponsor which reflects banking institutions’ keenness to achieve sustainable growth\, boost the sector and set leadership standards\,” \n“This support reflects Bank’s keenness to showcase Bahrain’s advanced position in financial services\, support BAB in achieving its objectives\, promote the leading position of this sector\, and highlight its importance as a leading economic sector in the Kingdom” added Dr. Al Qassim \nStandard Chartered Bank CEO Mr. Abdulla Bukhowa praised BAB’s efforts in highlighting locally\, regionally and globally the prominent position of the Bahrain banking sector\, and Bahrain’s advanced environment in the field of legislation and banking services in general. \nIt is an honor for Standard Chartered Bank to be a leading supporter of BAB’s celebration of the centenary of the banking sector\, that is based on the history of the Bank’s establishment in Bahrain a century ago.
